Since 1995 he has worked as the Executive Director of the Wellness Councils of the Midlands (WELCOM) educating some of Nebraska's leading companies on the importance and adoption of healthier lifestyles.
He helped propel Nebraska into the national limelight as just the second U.S. city to be named a "Well City, USA" in 1996.
Before his work with the Wellness Council, he spent 22 years as an elementary Health and Physical Education teacher and volleyball coach.
Howie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Physical Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he also completed graduate coursework in Health Education.
Howie lives with his wife, Carol, in the Omaha area. They have three sons: Andy, Adam and Tim.
Becky Dorn, Assistant Executive Director
Rebecca Dorn understands the importance of wellness education.
Since 1996 she has worked as the Assistant Executive Director of the Wellness Councils of the Midlands (WELCOM).
She works alongside Howie Halperin inspiring businesses of all sizes to take an active role in the physical, emotional, and spiritual health, of their employees.
Becky graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Dakota and a Master of Arts in Health Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
She serves as the Project Advisor to the Well Workplace Nebraska Project sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska.
Becky and her husband, Jerry, live in the Omaha area. They have two children: Austin and Elyse.
